The story

Parentr is a family organizer app from a US startup founded by a two-time Grammy winner. It reached us half-released: partly live on the App Store, messy underneath, and maintained by a developer who could not keep up.

The challenge was keeping a live, partly shipped app in sync while clearing a long backlog quickly. We took over the whole technical side and ran two months of fix-and-ship, releasing daily at the peak, fixing bugs while shipping the features that had been stuck in the queue.

The founder spent almost no time on development. They reported what hurt, we handled the rest, and they went back to marketing and reading production data. Parentr is on the App Store and Google Play, and the collaboration continued after the fix phase.

What was hard, and how we solved it

Problem

Scattered messages

Plans live across texts, emails, and group chats, so half the group never sees the update.

Paper sign-ups

Volunteer sheets and RSVPs get lost, so organizers chase people one by one.

Missed reminders

Events, practices, and deadlines slip by because there is no single place to check.

Solution

One shared calendar

School events, practices, and family plans sit in one calendar the whole group can see.

Tasks and signups

Responsibilities are tracked in the app, and organizers see who responded at a glance.

Smart reminders

Notifications go out before deadlines, signups, and RSVPs, so nothing gets forgotten.
