The story
KidNation is an AI edutainment app for children, co-founded by Chris "Ludacris" Bridges. It reached us full of bugs, on a backend that could not grow, and without the AI it needed to give each child a personal experience. Rebuilding it was cheaper than repairing it.
The centrepiece is a storybook generator. It had to write a book with consistent characters, real emotion, a plot and good illustrations, with narration, in under 60 seconds, for many children at once. That technology did not quite exist yet. We worked with AI providers to get early access to unreleased features and spent six months of research getting the result right.
The rebuilt app also includes streaming, interactive games, tablet support and an admin panel for content. We met weekly and handled research, planning, development, testing and release, while the client focused on content partnerships.
