Client Problem
I have an existing app, but I'm not satisfied with my current developer. The app has lots of bugs, the developer doesn't respond, and I must launch soon to meet my marketing expectations. I need someone to quickly take over the app, fix all bugs, integrate AI Image Recognition, add paywall, and launch it.

Our Solution
We must quickly allocate the developer that has experience with similar code structure.
We must decide if it is feasible to fix existing bugs, or if we should build a new app from scratch. Depending on what's faster, we should offer an appropriate solution.
We must ensure that the app is launched on time and bug-free. Somehow, we have to wrap everything - dev onboarding, bug fixing, AI integration, testing and deploy - in a short time period.

How we made it work
1. Analysis
We didn't have time to spend 2 weeks researching product from all angles. Instead, our CTO spent 3 full + overtime days together with our Co-Founder to fully understand the product and tech approach behind it. We immediately involved our QA Tester to create test procedures for this particular project. Thanks to our templated solutions and niched experience (we build only Flutter apps), we quickly found a right person to fix the app and integrate AI into the product.
2. Bug fixes
Once the dev was allocated and testing procedures were set up, we had everything ready to complete the first phase of the product. Thanks to the size of our team, all members have perfect synergy; and thanks to our standardized procedures, they don't have to spend nearly as much time as our competitors to be onboarded onto a new project. Even though the app was built extremely poorly, we managed to quickly fix all issues and ship a stable product.
3. AI Integration
Grapic aimed to be a safe space for audience of any age. But, as any startup, they couldn't afford to manually review every single picture. The solution - integrate an algorithm to do it automatically. Since we are under NDA, we can't mention an exact tech used behind this algorithm, but we can say it was AI-powered. We've got a ton of experience with such tasks, so making it work didn't take us long.
4. Launch & Support
App Store had already approved the app before we took over the project, but Google Play hadn't. So we immediately submitted the app to Google Play review before starting to fix any bugs. And by the time we finished the development, the app was already approved. By submitting the app in advance, we didn't waste two weeks waiting on Google Play to review and approve everything, as they usually do. So the submission process was quite smooth.
After this successful launch, we, as always, stayed with our client to see if the app has any issues, but no bugs were reported - seems like there wasn't enough marketing volume to attract large enough audience to report any issues. So we extended our support period just to make sure everything works well - and it did.
Our client was happy with how everything turned out - and we had another portfolio item with AI integration, and a 5-star feedback. Win-win!
